Standard seven, instructional planning skills, is needed in planning every lesson plan. As a teacher I must be able to plan accordingly for my students to learn the appropriate material in an appropriate amount of time. I must be prepared to not only teach the students, but to create lesson that make students think on a deeper level and have them understand the material in depth. I will have to know the material inside and out in order for my students to understand the material.
Collaborative Unit
Collaborative Unit
- My collaborative unit was a incredible unit that was taught to my peers in my curriculum and instruction class. This unit was great because it involved so many dimensions and strategies that created high engagement levels. I had to plan out this project accordingly to make sure that I filled all the requirements. I planned on doing large projects and lessons that required me to plan accordingly so that everything is done on time and done correctly. You must be able to teach your students these skills so that they can plan for their own assignments and to become an incredible member of society.

It helps you plan what types of activities the students will be doing during a given time. I have created many lessons that have included technology, but engage the students learning abilities. I was able to know what I was going to take evidence on and what standards I was working on. I was also able to transition my students from subject to subject easily. Lesson planning keeps you organized, and helps you become resourceful and prepared for a given unit of lesson.
Math for Fourth Grade Trimester Three
- In the fourth grade, I decided to take over math for trimester three. It involved numerous aspects of geometry and the understanding of how to use various tools to estimate and measure different figures areas and angles. I had to plan for all the students needs, but also come up with creative lessons that kept student engagement. I had to prepare student warm up sheets and align everything with the Common Core State Standards. I had to decide what types of evidence I would take for grades and what types of activities would be considered practice for the students.
